š Reflecting on my week⦠Friday 31st …
In the Profit Propeller Program, we call this a retrospective.
Is where we reflect on the week just gone, pat ourselves on the back for good stuff, and learn from challenges. We also use it for bringing back focus to the week ahead.
So letās e get started.
> š Wins:
Another great week this week.
I completed drafting a new sales page for the accountancy business and sketching out the video putting the proposition together.
I also sketched out the ābookkeeping for better businessā proposition, with mind maps and structure, ready to go for next week.
The market for both these areas has changed significantly in the last two years, with greater competition, and greater need for a better service from accountants and bookkeepers. Business owners need to understand their business performance from one month to the next, rather than from one year to the next.
We are upping our delivery to meet the needs of our business community in the UK.
Having the roadmaps to create these documents, really helps get the process streamlined, for faster production and a more robust end product.
On the recruitment front, I had success in hiring three new team members. A new accountant, a new video editor (he used to work with me before) and a web editor. They are all on a three-month trial, to make sure that they have the right attitude, as well as the right skill.
I always aim to hire for attitude first and skill second, and I recommend you do the same. You can train for skill, but cannot train for attitude.
On the personal side, I had a very relaxed week and managed to get seven days out of seven, for my exercise routines. Rowing, gardening, walking.
> š Challenges:
No challenges to speak of this week. Hooray. š
> š Learnings:
This week I read the book āMeasure what Mattersā which I will be doing my book review on in the next few weeks, so look out for that in the blog.
As you know, I am 100% behind the principle that āwhat gets measured, gets managedā. This book has an interesting spin on that, which Iām looking forward to sharing with you.
> ā³ Projects
The Project for the month finished well, with testing various headlines and body content for the āProfit Propeller Programā which I am launching in the next month or so, when everything is lined up.
It seemed clear from my research that business owners consider getting more sales the best way to grow their business profits, rather than improving the internal processes.
Lesson learned here is that you must give your audience what they want first, and then develop what they need.
Next week I will be launching some new campaigns on Google AdWords for the accounting and bookkeeping side of the business, as we have now new team members, ready to go to grow that side of the business.
I am putting 50% of my energy into this side of the business, and the other 50% on the āProfit Propeller Programā launch.
I have a short week for me next week.
Iām going away for a long weekend with a few of the family, to the Spanish island of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands. I have two days of diving, and two days of chilling, recharging for the autumn push to December.
How are you planning to hit your targets for 2018, given that there are just over three months to go, with December being a short monthā¦
Would love to hear your take on the last quarter of 2018.
